Moon Knight #8
From June 1981, this issue of Moon Knight delivers one of the most striking covers of the series, rendered entirely by Bill Sienkiewicz in a raw, high-contrast black-and-white style accented with bold red. Moon Knight crouches in his white costume against a pitch-black background, dwarfed by an enormous snarling wolf looming over him, its jaws wide open — while cascading red "HA HA HA" lettering fills the space between them, suggesting something deeply unsettling lurking within "Night of the Wolves." With Doug Moench scripting and Sienkiewicz handling both pencils and inks, this issue showcases the creative team at their atmospheric, moody best.
