Mooie zomers #3

The third volume of Mooie Zomers arrives in 2017 with "Mam'zelle Esterel," the latest collaboration between writer Zidrou and artist Jordi Lafebre, whose cover work here is as charming as ever. The image assembles a wonderfully mismatched family portrait: a stout, sleepy older man, a glamorous young woman in a yellow halter dress cradling a baby, a small child sitting at her feet, and a sharply dressed elderly woman in pink radiating cool disapproval — all of them sporting oversized sunglasses. It's a single image that quietly promises sun-drenched summer tension, warmth, and the delicious comedy of generations rubbing up against each other.
