Monte Hale Western #64

Monte Hale must prove his innocence when he is framed for murdering a man and robbing a safe during a cattle stampede orchestrated by the villain Curry. When Curry attempts to blackmail Monte with a souvenir from the Curio Caravan, claiming the safe contained a gun that will prove Monte's guilt, Monte discovers the note Curry had requested and searches Curry's pockets to find evidence. Curry demands a thousand dollars and threatens to report the incident to the sheriff as an accident, but Monte refuses to be blackmailed and confronts Curry with the truth that the opened safe and missing note will prove his innocence to a jury.
