Monte Hale discovers that outlaws have stolen a guitar belonging to someone in town and used it to lure out what they believe to be "Bad Blood Bigger," a notorious criminal. Monte and his partner pursue the gang into the desert, where they uncover a scheme involving the stolen guitar and musical deception. The issue also features a separate story about Gray Hawk, an Indian boy who must warn his tribe of an approaching enemy attack by creating a makeshift drum to send a warning message through the forest.
