Monte Hale Western #40

This issue contains four stories featuring Monte Hale, the two-gun cowboy, plus a Gabby Hayes feature. The main Monte Hale story, "Pirate Train," follows Monte as he discovers a train operated by desperados has robbed the Rim Rock Bank and is heading into the hills; he must pursue them and recover the stolen gold shipment while contending with the outlaw gang and its leader, the Coyote. In a secondary story titled "Bronko Betsy," a musical prodigy named Betsy performs piano at a concert, though her performance is disrupted when gunfire erupts during the show, creating comedic chaos among the audience members.
