Monte Hale discovers that a tribe of Navajos, led by a chief named Meniss, has been framed for attacking a wagon train commanded by a man named Nemesis. Meanwhile, a gunslinger named Dart has orders to guard a mountain pass, and Monte encounters a group of famous gunslingers gathering for a shooting tournament in Corral City, where tensions arise over accidental shootings during practice.
