A vivid green gelatinous creature towers menacingly over a graveyard as a group of terrified humans — one wielding what appears to be a scientific instrument — scramble in the foreground, all rendered with that unmistakable energy in Steve Ditko's cover pencils and inks. The story inside, "Hermit of Brimstone Cave!," is brought to life entirely by Wayne Howard, who handled the writing, art, inking, and lettering himself. Charlton's Monster Hunters was delivering this kind of atmospheric horror fun in 1978, and issue #15 looks like a fine example of the series firing on all cylinders.
