Nutty Squirrel grows increasingly frustrated after being given wildly different times by various people throughout the day, leading to a moment of comedic exasperation. After a series of escalating mishaps involving a mislabeled whisk-broom and a malfunctioning electric paint sprayer, Nutty Squirrel finds themselves tangled in a messy, paint-covered situation they never saw coming.

Nutty Squirrel stumbles upon an old suit of armor in a dusty attic and, imagining himself a knight of yore, dons it with grand flair—only to find the visor stuck shut and himself unable to see. His clumsy attempts to move around lead to a series of crashes that alarm museum staff, who mistake him for a burglar. When finally freed from the armor, Nutty is hailed as a hero, though his reward is an unexpected and uncomfortable seat.

A dog spots a buried bone and digs it up, only to growl in disappointment when it’s too small. Enraged, he chases what he thinks is another dog with a bigger bone—only to realize it’s his own reflection in the water. The story ends with him mourning his lost bone, teaching a lesson about greed and contentment.

Nutty Squirrel races against the clock to catch the 5:45 train, only to learn he’s already missed it after a distracting chat with Harry the Horse. Meanwhile, Harry, asleep on the job, is scolded for neglecting chores and forced to build a self-balancing wagon to carry groceries—only to ruin the goods and face even more punishment.

Marmaduke Monk tries to win back Mary Monk by sending her a dramatic note claiming he’s killed himself, only to be interrupted by a delivery boy who misdelivers the message. Mary, believing the note, is moved to tears—until she realizes she’s been tricked, and the boy is confused about how to respond.
