Paul loves his neighbor Adele but she only thinks of him as a friend. When she meets Don, Adele thinks she’s found true love and they become engaged, but he leaves town and writes her a letter breaking up with her. On the rebound she agrees to marry Paul, but Don returns and tries to rekindle their relationship. Adele realises Don “just wanted to play with my emotions,” and slaps him. Paul tells Adele he knows the whole story and still loves her; she loves him as well.
