A secondary story follows a young boy named Charlie who is tempted by an older man offering easy money through a scheme involving coded numbers, but Charlie ultimately rejects the criminal proposition after an adult warns him about the dangers of dishonesty and teaches him the importance of truth, honor, tolerance, and courage. The issue also includes the "Mister Universe Club News" section promoting a upcoming contest for club members and featuring a guest editor's column.
Tommy Turner, the wrestling champion known as Mister Universe, faces a crisis of conscience after an accident in the ring that kills his opponent Big Max—or so everyone believes. Wracked with guilt and convinced his superhuman strength makes him too dangerous to wrestle, Tommy withdraws from the sport, only to find himself pressured back into the ring for a championship bout against a challenger called the Crimson Crusher. What Tommy doesn't know is that the whole tragedy was orchestrated by gamblers who want him too frightened to fight at his peak, and Big Max is very much alive.
