Misery #3

This third chapter of Image's four-issue Misery series arrives with a cover that is genuinely hard to look away from — a young woman wearing a choker screams in anguish, her head thrown back while ghostly, contorted figures emerge from and entwine through her hair like living nightmares made flesh. The murky, sickly-gold palette gives the whole image an oppressive, dreamlike dread that feels right at home in 2024's horror comics landscape. With only one issue left after this, the mounting tension on display here suggests the series is building toward something very dark indeed.
