Minimum Wage #2
Bob Fingerman's Minimum Wage returns with this second issue from Image, its cover perfectly capturing the series' wry, pulp-tinged sensibility — a wide-eyed, mohawked young man in glasses sits nervously as a curvy, shadowy female figure looms before him, with the tagline "He was a naïf, knee-deep in a miasma of demon weed and carnality" setting the tone beautifully. The painted cover art evokes vintage paperback crime fiction while keeping things bracingly funny and a little unsettling. Fingerman's slice-of-life comedy about youth, awkwardness, and bad decisions looks sharp in this 2014 Image run.
