Matt Kindt's Mind MGMT has always had a gift for unsettling surfaces, and issue #16 leans into that with a cover styled as a cheerful vintage magazine — complete with domestic tips on "Knife Skills" and "Scrapbooking" — while a smiling woman in a green dress wields a very bloody knife at the counter, a shadowy suited figure lurking in the doorway behind her. The everyday-housewife aesthetic colliding with those bloodstains and that oblivious grin makes for one of the series' most quietly sinister images. A genuinely clever piece of design work from Kindt that captures exactly why this Dark Horse Originals series earned its devoted following in 2013.
