Millie the Model Comics #53

Dan DeCarlo's cover for this April 1954 Atlas Comics entry sets the scene at a glamorous fashion show featuring creations from Paris, Rome, London, Istanbul, and Brooklyn — because of course Brooklyn belongs on that list. Millie herself is stationed at the information desk in a striking red dress, cheerfully fielding inquiries from a dapper gentleman in a blue suit who's just been given her phone number, "Digby 7-1000," while an elegantly dressed brunette poses stylishly in the background. It's a breezy, warmly funny snapshot of Millie's world that captures exactly why "The Blonde Bombshell" earned her loyal monthly readership.
