A delightful slice of 1953 social life, this Atlas Comics issue captures Millie stretched out on the sofa in a polka-dot outfit, diary in hand, giving an admirer a spirited piece of her mind over the telephone — while a dark-haired friend perches nearby, urgently whispering for her to say yes before he hangs up. Dan DeCarlo's cover art (inked with Sol Brodsky) crackles with charm and comedic timing, perfectly bottling the breezy, good-natured humor that made Millie the Model such an appealing read. At a dime a copy, this was lighthearted fun at its finest.
