Millie the Model #180

This 1970 Marvel gem finds Millie the Model at the center of a wonderfully groovy cover scene, where she and a young man lounge on a couch surrounded by scattered vinyl records — his deadpan confession that he plays the records they don't like because "it wears them out faster" sets just the right breezy, comedic tone. Stan Goldberg's pencils and John Verpoorten's inks capture the era's fashion perfectly, from Millie's red-patterned outfit and headscarf to the hi-fi stereo humming away in the background. With the interior story "The Man for Millie!" promising romance and laughs in equal measure, this is a thoroughly charming slice of early-'70s Marvel fun.
