Mike Barnett, Man Against Crime #1

Private detective Mike Barnett investigates a counterfeiting operation after discovering that a sedan matching one parked near a pier is connected to the crime. His investigation leads him to a hotel where he questions employees and discovers that a man named Warner, who was involved in copying rare coins, was hired by the mastermind Dr. Dionysos to stop him. Barnett tracks Dionysos to a building where a confrontation ensues, and Dionysos is defeated and captured, with Barnett apprehending the entire counterfeiting gang and closing the case with the inspector's commendation.
