Mika #1/1984
"Del 1: En inbjudan" kicks off a chilling tale in Mika #1/1984, a 6:75 SEK (6:75 FIM) comic from 1984, written and illustrated by Nils Egerbrandt, with inks also by him. When Pova claims a ghost haunts an old shipwreck, Olli tries to scare her by knocking over oil drums—only to end up stuck in the mast himself. Later, as Jumpe shares spooky stories, Olli and Pova decide to turn the tables, donning sacks to frighten him in return. The cover, by Bowen, captures the eerie mood with a haunting, shadowed silhouette.
In "Del 1: En inbjudan" from Mika #1/1984, young Mika sets off with his reindeer companion Ossian to catch a circus in Luleå, only to find themselves pursued by a pack of wolves along the way. Just as they reach the airport, Mika realizes in panic that he’s lost their plane tickets—leaving their journey uncertain and their adventure far from over.
In "Det göms i snö," Olli builds an ice rink from his igloo to the frozen lake where he fishes, but when a heavy snowfall blankets the tundra, shadowy fur thieves crawl through the snow tunnels between igloos, stealing warm pelts. With quick thinking and a cleverly rigged net, Olli sets a trap to catch the culprits before they vanish into the white silence.
In "Det spökar," Olli and Pova face a ghostly mystery in an old shipwreck, where Olli's attempt to scare Pova backfires when he accidentally gets trapped in the mast. Later, Jumpe shares spooky tales, prompting the pair to team up and try to scare him back—dressed in sackcloth and shadows.
