☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis collection kicks off Marvel's Mighty Marvel Masterworks line with the earliest adventures of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, reprinting Avengers #1-10 from 1963-64. It covers the team's formation by Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp, and Hulk to battle Loki, followed by early clashes with foes like Kang the Conqueror, Baron Zemo, and the Enchantress. The volume also introduces classic members like Captain America and sets the stage for the team's enduring legacy in the Marvel Universe.
"The Coming of the Avengers!" kicks off with a dramatic clash when Namor assaults an Inuit village, only to unleash Captain America from a frozen tomb beneath the ice—awakening the super-soldier after decades in suspended animation. As the Avengers rally around their newly revived leader, they’re suddenly petrified by a mysterious alien, setting off a high-stakes mission to recover the alien’s damaged spacecraft. With Jack Kirby’s legendary art and Stan Lee’s dynamic storytelling, this landmark issue brings together iconic heroes in a tale of resurrection, alien intrigue, and unexpected alliances—complete with a striking cover by Michael Cho.

Namor attacks a group of eskimos and throws their idol into the sea. When the ice melts, the figure trapped within turns out to be Captain America, in suspended animation since the end of World War II. The Avengers rescue Cap and return to New York. An alien figure turns our heroes to stone. When Cap and Rick Jones track him down, the alien agrees to restore the Avengers if they agree to help him recover his broken space ship in return. When doing so, the Avengers are attacked by Namor and his people. The restored spaceship ultimately drives off Namor and his men.
