"He Sailed Into Silence!" recounts the maritime mystery of Captain Joshua Slocum, a renowned seafaring master of the Northern Light, who departs on a voyage to retrieve an antiquated sloop called "The Spray" that he intends to rebuild. A subsequent story features Johnny, a Navy air corps gunner who becomes trapped underwater in a sunken vessel called the Coronado and must use his wits and an air pump to survive two pincer-wielding sea monsters before being rescued by his fellow sailors. The issue also includes a back-cover advertisement for a magic magnifier available through mail coupon.

Captain Joshua Slocum

When two young lovers from feuding families wed in secret during 1560, they're forced to hide their marriage—and eventually disappear into the abandoned chambers of a castle, hoping their absence might end a centuries-old feud. As months pass in hardship and isolation, Mary and Angus make a desperate final gambit, each risking everything to prove that their love might accomplish what violence never could. Will their sacrifice bring peace, or merely deepen the sorrow that already haunts both clans?

Doing the Turkey Trot!
5 pp · Humor, Fantasy

When Master Pinwheel sets out to bag a wild turkey for Thanksgiving in the old days, his hunt goes wildly off the rails—he's chased by Native Americans, petrified by sorcery, shaken down by goblins, and ends up dumping a witch's magic elixir into the swamp. Out of the bubbling water rises the Lady of the Swamp, and the enchanted Master Pinwheel finds himself utterly captivated, leading to an unexpected romantic complication that the practical village folk are none too pleased about. It's a delightfully topsy-turvy tale that'll make you grateful for frozen dinners and simple modern Thanksgivings!

The Last Laugh!
7 pp · Fantasy
Biff Johnson

Biff Johnson, the office's self-proclaimed funniest man, finally gets his comeuppance when he inherits his uncle's castle in Maryland—only to discover it comes with a very real, very angry ghost who takes his practical jokes far too seriously. Can Biff use his bag of tricks to outsmart a supernatural being bent on revenge, or will he finally meet his match?
