Michael Turner's Fathom Dawn of War #2
In "Crest-Fallen," Kiani and Marqueses launch a daring raid on Maylander’s base to rescue Casque, but the mission takes a sharp turn when Marqueses betrays Kiani, abandoning her to his men before fleeing with their captive. Left to fend for herself, Kiani dispatches her allies back to safety with Cannon and pursues Marqueses alone, determined to reclaim Casque and expose the truth. Written by J. T. Krul, Talent Caldwell, and Michael Turner, with art by Talent Caldwell and inks by Jason Gorder, this 2004 issue delivers a tense, character-driven escalation in Aspen’s Fathom series, its vivid colors by Beth Sotelo heightening the emotional stakes. The cover, penciled by Talent Caldwell and inked by Jason Gorder, captures the moment of betrayal in striking detail.

Kiani and Marqueses invade Maylander's base and rescue Casque. Marqueses betrays Kiani, however, and has his lackeys attack her while he takes off with Casque. After making short work of his minions, Kiani sends her allies back home with Cannon and follows after Marqueses on her own.
