This volume collects the first half of Rumiko Takahashi's dark fantasy horror series, originally published in the 1980s and early 1990s. It follows Yuta, an immortal who has lived for centuries after eating mermaid flesh, as he searches for a way to become human again and encounters other beings cursed by mermaid immortality. The collection includes the stories "Mermaid Never Smile" and "The Village of the Fighting Fish."
