Jeff Lemire's deeply personal Mazebook continues with a cover that stops you cold — a wide-eyed, haunted figure stares out, her torso consumed by an intricate circular maze, at the center of which stands a ghostly, elongated child trailing something like a lifeline through the white void. Tall, shadowy forms loom behind her against pale blue panels, amplifying the sense of being trapped between worlds. With Lemire handling every creative element himself, this 2021 Dark Horse series wears its melancholy and wonder right on the surface.
