Using the royal dagger as a shield against Fendra's magic blast, Max saves Conrad and Nolan. Mumblin brings Bruce to the battle, and Bruce brings other dragons, who carry off Gastley and the Royal Guards. The reinstated King Conrad reopens the schools of magic and knighthood, decreeing that each child will be able to follow his or her own calling, rather than having to assume the occupations of each child's parents, and the city celebrates.
