The teal depths of this BOOM! Studios series produce another haunting image as a monstrous, scaled creature curls its jagged-toothed maw into a ring around a transformed, hollow-eyed figure in a tattered dress — the visual tension between predator and prey feeling achingly close to collapse. Ariela Kristantina's linework is mesmerizing in its detail, from the creature's rough, reptilian hide to the figure's clawed hands and corrupted features drifting against the deep. Jude Ellison S. Doyle and A.L. Kaplan's Maw continues to deliver unsettling, beautifully rendered horror with issue #3.
