From Fawcett's long-running anthology comes this October 1949 issue of Master Comics, featuring Captain Marvel Jr. in "The Deathly Humor!" — and the cover by Kurt Schaffenberger sets the scene with a wonderfully chaotic energy. Captain Marvel Jr., in his distinctive blue-and-gold costume, lunges across the floor to shield a fallen woman from a pratfalling villain in an orange suit who has slipped on a banana peel, while a grinning accomplice in green looks on — the hero's exasperated "Holy Moley! He'll kill somebody with his weird sense of humor!" says it all. Rounding out the package, the issue also promises Nyoka and Tom Mix stories, making this a packed ten-cent read.
