Maskerade #6

This sixth issue of Dark Horse's Maskerade sports a wonderfully inventive paper-doll cover design, presenting the blue-suited, faceless title character standing atop a pile of skulls, surrounded by labeled cut-out accessories — two katanas, a tactical gun, a throwing knife, a hunting knife, two handguns, a demon mask, a Venetian mask, a phone, tropical drinks, and a mysterious photo. Surrounding her are the labeled faces of the cast: Felicia, Scarlet, Cynthina, Atkins, Alfie, and Orgy Blonde, each portrait arranged like punch-out paper collectibles. It's a clever, playful presentation from the creative team of Kevin Smith, Andy McElfresh, John Sprengelmeyer, Giulia Gualazzi, Giulia Brusco, and Andrew Thomas that hints at a story with a lot of moving pieces — and a lot of sharp ones, too.
