This 1947 Fawcett gem captures Mary Marvel mid-shriek on a creaky porch, census clipboard in hand, coming face-to-face with two sheet-draped ghosts — one looming and gesturing, one small and sheepish — while a freckled friend beside her lets out a startled "How many live in this house — EEEEEE!" The cover art by Jack Binder perfectly balances spooky atmosphere with broad comedy, setting up what the banner promises is "spine-tickling fun" from ghost to ghost starring the world's mightiest girl. It's a wonderfully playful snapshot of postwar comics at their most charming.
