“A Moving Experience”

Marvel Two-in-One #70 (December 1980) puts the Thing front and center on a gritty city street, bracing against a massive alien weapon being leveled at him from an unseen attacker while a alarmed blonde woman in green looks on nearby. Ben Grimm's cover speech balloon — "I thought I saw the last of these creeps — long ago — but I wuz WRONG!" — sets a charged, street-level tone that makes you want to flip straight to page one. Keith Pollard's pencils and Joe Sinnott's inks give the scene real weight and energy, and the "And—?!" co-star mystery in the title banner is a fun tease that the series always delivered on.
