Marvel Team-Up #110

Spider-Man and Iron Man descend into a subterranean cavern on this Bob Layton cover, fists raised and ready as they face an enormous, heavily mechanized villain — identified by the cover as Magma — bursting up from molten rock and debris at the Earth's core. The tagline "Havoc at the Earth's Core!" sets the underground stakes perfectly, while the scale of that purple-and-gold armored threat makes it clear our two heroes have their work cut out for them. Writer David Michelinie and artist Herb Trimpe bring their combined talents to "Magma Force!" — a 1981 team-up that puts Marvel's wall-crawler and armored Avenger shoulder-to-shoulder against a genuinely imposing subterranean menace.
