Spider-Man finds himself in desperate straits on this December 1977 cover by John Romita and Frank Giacoia, with his red-and-blue-clad body coiled in the mechanical tentacles of Doctor Octopus while a menacing figure looms in the doorway declaring "I've got you at last!" — and the cover copy cheekily reminds us it doesn't look like "Spidey's Greatest Triumph" right now. Stan Lee and John Romita's reprint adventure promises exactly the kind of against-all-odds tension that made Marvel's wall-crawler such a compelling hero in the first place.
