“The Molten Man Regrets”

Marvel Tales #174 brings together a Spider-Man and Molten Man confrontation in this 1985 reprint from Marvel's Collector's Item Classic line. The cover — penciled by Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby and inked by Ditko and Sol Brodsky — frames the action beautifully: Spider-Man arches acrobatically over a giant web-framed spider-eye emblem, while the golden-skinned Molten Man charges forward from within it, fists clenched and ready. Titled "The Molten Man Regrets…!", this issue pairs the original creative team of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko for a story that still carries plenty of punch decades after it was first told.
