In "Vendepunktet," the Hulk, battered and furious after the Secret Wars, races to rescue Kate from the deadly Boomerang. Once the threat is gone, he and Kate return to Bruce's lab—only to find that former mob boss Max Hammer has been using Bruce's untested gamma cure to heal the sick, with terrifying consequences that erupt before their eyes.

In "Drepe eller helbrede!", a monstrous Max Hammer, transformed by Bruce Banner's gamma cure, goes on a rampage against the Hulk. As their battle rages, the Hulk begins to lose himself to his primal rage, while Rom arrives to hunt Dire Wraiths—only to find a trail of gamma-crazed victims succumbing to the same fate. With his neutralizer, Rom heals the dying, but when he attempts to save the Hulk, even his advanced alien technology proves powerless to undo the damage.
