Featuring tales of Fin Fang Foom, Groot, and other creatures, the stories blend horror and superhero action with contributions from writers and artists like Jeff Parker and Steve Uy. The volume collects the core issues that explore the origins and conflicts of Marvel's monstrous inhabitants.
In "The Battle That Time Forgot," two ancient Celestials, Gamiel and Devron, observe Earth’s evolution and are surprised when a peaceful species, aided by a dinosaur, begins to outmatch a more aggressive one—upending Gamiel’s belief that only the strong survive. When Gamiel calls upon the Hulk from the future to tip the balance, Devron intervenes, setting off a chain of events that neither Celestial fully anticipated.
In "I Was a Slave of the Living Hulk!", an ordinary electrician stumbles upon a dormant alien criminal and unwittingly brings him back to life. Once awakened, the creature unleashes a psychic domination over all of humanity, compelling them to construct a vessel for his escape—and vengeance—on Earth. With quiet determination, the electrician begins a dangerous sabotage from within, hoping to outwit the being he’s helped unleash.
In "Bring on the Bombu!", a lightning-struck alien named Bombu struggles to balance his duties as an intergalactic invader with the unexpected complications of Earth’s justice system. After being stunned by two policemen and locked away, Bombu calls his superior to ask about bail—only to be reminded that the invasion preparations are still on schedule.
When the aliens who once attacked Earth return to apologize, they grant Charles a surprising gift: the return of Monstrollo, the creature who saved the planet. With Monstrollo now his agent, Charles finds himself back in the spotlight, wielding influence in Hollywood once more.
In "The Shadow of Manoo," Billie stumbles upon a crashed spaceship and learns from a dying alien, Keld, that a shape-shifting prisoner named Manoo has escaped—capable of taking on human form. Armed with a mysterious weapon and guided by the eerie glow of flashlights, she hunts for the creature, only to find that the line between hunter and hunted is far more tangled than she ever imagined.
In "I Was Trapped By Titano the Monster That Time Forgot!", Commander Hartnell leads a desperate mission to stop a colossal, ancient crab known as Titano, whose rampage across the South Pacific islands has drawn military attention. As Hartnell and his crew face off against the beast in treacherous waters, they execute a daring plan to lure Titano into the Arctic, where the frozen landscape becomes their ultimate weapon.
In "Fin Fang Foom!", a young historian from Taiwan journeys to the mainland with a dangerous mission: awaken the ancient dragon Fin Fang Foom to stop a communist invasion. Using cunning and ancient rites, he draws the beast to the coast to destroy the invading fleet, then guides it back to its hidden lair before sealing its slumber once more.
In "We Found the Ninth Wonder of the World!", an isolated ocean expedition stumbles upon a reclusive scientist who’s turned the tide of nature with experimental serums—growing two colossal turtles, one as big as a house, the other stretching across the sea like a floating island. The discovery raises more questions than answers, as the team confronts the surreal reality of what the scientist has wrought.
In "I Saw Droom the Living Lizard!", a scientist's ambitious attempt to end world hunger with a growth serum takes a bizarre turn when a tiny exotic lizard is accidentally exposed to the formula, swelling into a colossal creature that terrorizes the nation. After being blasted into space and frozen in the void, the giant lizard eventually returns to Earth—where it becomes the first dinosaur.
