☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis Marvel Graphic Novel collects the debut solo story of Jennifer Walters, the Sensational She-Hulk, as she navigates a case involving the theft of a powerful device while contending with her cousin Bruce Banner’s gamma-irradiated legacy. The tale pits She-Hulk against a cadre of familiar Marvel faces, including Colonel Nick Fury and Dum Dum Dugan, in a blend of courtroom drama and superhero action that showcases her unique blend of legal savvy and superhuman strength. Written by Bob Harras, this volume marks a key early appearance for the character outside of her Avengers tenure.
In The Sensational She-Hulk, John Byrne’s dynamic storytelling and art bring a fresh, high-stakes twist to the Hulk’s cousin, as She-Hulk is detained by SHIELD to prevent her from succumbing to her cousin’s rage. When a swarm of sentient roaches attacks a helicarrier, chaos erupts—leading to a shocking radiation exposure that permanently alters She-Hulk’s connection to her human identity. The cover by John Byrne captures the moment with bold, kinetic energy, setting the tone for a story that redefines what it means to be a superhero in the Marvel Universe.

She-Hulk is captured by SHIELD to make sure she won't become the type of menace caused by her more famous and violent cousin, but the plan goes wrong when the helicarrier is menaced by a horde of sentient roaches. The helicarrier goes down in the mayhem and in keeping the whole thing from blowing sky high, She-Hulk is exposed to a heavy dose of radiation that prevents her from changing into her alter-ego Jennifer Walters ever again.
