Marvel Fanfare hors-série #[nn]
In "Le terrible secret, Chapitre 1 : Qu'y a-t-il sous le masque ?", Dr. Strange ventures into the deepest recesses of The Ancient One’s mind, confronting a series of perilous psychic traps in a desperate bid to uncover the truth behind the mysterious force known as Eternity. Written by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee, with art, inks, and colors by Ditko and Stan Goldberg, this 1985 Marvel Fanfare hors-série delivers a haunting, introspective journey through memory and mystery. On the cover, John Byrne’s pencils and Al Milgrom’s inks capture the moment just before the final spell is cast—leaving the doorway to Eternity open, and the fate of the battle between good and evil hanging in the balance.
In the mystical depths of a forgotten realm, Stephen Strange races against time, hunted by Dormammu’s shadow and guided only by cryptic clues. With Clea held captive and his own mind unraveling, he must confront the lingering secrets of his mentor—leading him to a forgotten prison beneath the veil of reality.
In "Chapitre 2 : Rencontre de cerveaux mystiques," Dr. Strange ventures into the depths of The Ancient One’s unconscious mind, navigating surreal psychic trials to uncover the secret of Eternity. After confronting a series of mind-bending challenges, he finally reaches his master’s innermost consciousness, where he must prove his identity and intentions in a test of trust and resolve. The story ends with Strange emerging on a Himalayan peak, casting a powerful spell that opens a mystical doorway—just as Mordo arrives, too late to stop him.
In a realm beyond comprehension, Dr. Strange confronts Eternity, who affirms his worthiness and the dire threat posed by Mordo and Dormammu. Though reassured that he already holds the power needed, Strange returns to find The Ancient One vanished—only to be drawn into a final, unsettling encounter with Mordo, who declares, "The game is lost!"
In "Chapitre 5 : Les tenailles de la force," Strange, Mordo, and the Ancient One are cast into a neutral dimension by Dormammu, who then sets a deadly challenge: a one-on-one duel for control of Earth, fought solely with the Pincers of Power. As the battle rages and Strange begins to gain the upper hand, a sudden betrayal from Mordo throws the outcome into doubt.
In "Chapitre 6 : Que la victoire soit !", Strange stands triumphant after besting Dormammu in battle, only to face a new threat when the sorcerer is banished to the Dimension of Demons and Clea is torn from him. Back at The Ancient One’s home, a fragile peace is shattered as a hidden trap—set by Mordo’s Demon and his disciples—awaits Strange’s return. With the Mystic Globe flickering with lingering evil, the stakes rise as he walks unknowingly into danger.
