Marvel Age #85 brings its candy-cane-styled logo and holiday chaos together in a wonderfully anarchic cover by Sergio Aragonés, who packs the image with a rotund, sword-wielding Viking-type figure being swarmed by a stampede of cartoon creatures — frogs, a cheetah, a seagull, toy trains, musical instruments, and dozens of other delightfully silly critters tumbling across the snow. Beyond the cover mayhem, the issue also teases a sneak peek at the Captain America movie, previewed in a small photo inset of the costumed hero in the corner. Fred Hembeck handles the interior "Claus Encounter" feature entirely on his own — writing, drawing, inking, and lettering — making this a compact showcase of two very distinct cartooning voices in one 75-cent package.
