Mary receives a note from Alan saying he is leaving the castle. She tries to catch him before he leaves, but on reaching the castle the place starts falling down around her. Alan finds her and tells her he loves her. The American buyer likes the castle more as ruins than before so his offer still stands. Alan gives up his lease so that he can find a place where he and Mary can live together.
