“Appointment with Diamonds”

In "Appointment with Diamonds," Clive’s sudden relief at no longer loving Sarah comes too late for her heart, while Greta’s surprising confession about her feelings for James throws the village into confusion. Rumors swirl that Clive and Sarah have eloped, but when Clive’s aunt sends a letter threatening to cut him off unless he marries Sarah, the truth becomes a far more tangled affair. Carlos Freixas delivers the story with expressive, period-perfect art, capturing the quiet tension of a small community caught in emotional upheaval.

Away from the village, Clive is elated that he no longer feels he is in love with Sarah, not realizing how it is breaking her heart. Greta arrives to tell Sarah that she is now in love with James, the chauffeur. Everyone back in the village thinks Clive and Sarah left to elope.
