Leaving Carrick farm, Mark gives a ride to the vicar who mentions that Mrs. Carrick had once been on the stage with her brother who was a hypnotist. Immediately, Mark understands why Mandy didn't recognize him. He returns to the farm and finally breaks through to Mandy. But a half-crazed Cyril shoots Mark as they try to escape.
