Marauders #5 brings a striking nautical image from cover artist Russell Dauterman: a blue-skinned mutant with glowing hands raised triumphantly stands atop a surfacing submarine alongside a robed, sunglasses-wearing companion, while churning waves and a vast, luminous X-shaped structure frame the scene behind them. The mood is one of grand arrival — these two figures riding the crest of something much bigger than themselves, the water and light swirling around them with unmistakable purpose. Writer Gerry Duggan and artists Matteo Lolli and Lucas Werneck, with colors by Federico Blee, continue what has been one of Marvel's most visually adventurous series of 2020.
