The concluding chapter of Brian Wood's Mara arrives with one of the most quietly haunting covers of 2013: Ming Doyle renders the series' titular figure drifting weightlessly through the star-field of deep space, her long dark hair fanning out around her while the Earth hangs small and distant above.
