Manifest Destiny #19
The "Sasquatch" arc kicks off with issue #19, and Matthew Roberts' cover sets the tone beautifully — a massive, tree-bark-textured creature looms over an autumnal wilderness, its enormous hand raised against a blaze of orange and gold foliage, while a group of frontier-era explorers crowd the foreground with wary, determined expressions. Chris Dingess, Roberts, and Owen Gieni have built one of 2016's most inventive genre mash-ups, blending Lewis-and-Clark-era adventure with genuinely unsettling monster mythology. If this cover is any indication, the next six chapters are going to take the expedition somewhere far stranger than any map can chart.
