The second story follows Joe, a criminal who returns to pursuing his old ways despite initially trying to go straight, eventually becoming the "toast of the town" through his criminal exploits until a mysterious masked woman enters his life and, after a whirlwind romance, accepts his marriage proposal—only to reveal her true identity and complicate his plans by requiring the magazine editors to keep her masked face hidden.
