Mad #179
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeMAD Magazine No. 179 from December 1975 leads with one of the magazine's cheekiest cover gags: a bold proclamation that MAD "lowers its price," accompanied by a giant green downward arrow pointing to the fine print — "Mainly to here! 50¢ Cheap Shot" — with Alfred E. Neuman's gap-toothed grin presiding over the whole stunt from the upper corner. It's a wonderfully self-aware bit of consumer humor that perfectly captures the magazine's knack for turning even its own cover into a punchline. Inside, writer Arnie Kogen and artist/inker Angelo Torres bring their talents to bear on "Another Day in the Jungle" and the rest of MAD's reliably irreverent lineup.
