In this short, silly slice of 1957 charm, Spike and Tyke trade digging for a mischievous detour when Tyke spots an open manhole—only to find their playful prank with their bones quickly turning into a chase when an irate worker with a peculiar head shape shows up.

In "Man's Best Friend," Spike is determined to lead the Man's Best Friend Society with a strict no-cat policy—until Tyke befriends a tiny kitten, sparking a chain of mistaken identities and unexpected heroics. When the kitten disguises himself as a baby to win Tyke’s affection, Spike rushes in to protect the "child," only to rescue Snowball from a pond and expose his secret. The dogs shun him for saving a cat, but an adult’s recognition of his kindness leads to a surprising honor: honorary president of the Pussycat Protective Association.

Spike and Tyke are on their way home for supper when they spot a dachshund struggling to keep up with his family. After helping him out, they return to find their meal has vanished—thanks to the cat who didn’t think they’d make it back. With a clever idea, the dachshund they helped steps in to lend a paw, disguising them all as one big dachshund so they can share a meal together.

Spike and Tyke try to make amends after Mrs. Jones scolds them for digging in the yard, determined to help others—only to find their good intentions misinterpreted at every turn. From mistaken rescues to accidental chaos, their efforts only land them in deeper trouble, until a final mishap brings the police to deliver a surprising ultimatum: stay in the yard, but do whatever they want.

Jerry and Tuffy set their sights on a pumpkin from Tom’s patch, only to be told they must earn it by pulling weeds until they’re worn out. After their hard work, Tom offers them a tiny pumpkin—so small it barely counts. They accept, but quietly vow to leave it on the vine until it grows bigger.

In "Postman," Spike and Tyke seize on a clever plan when they learn a postman is handing out doggie treats to keep pups from bothering him—so they set out to collect every last one along his route. They even try to shoo away other dogs already at the houses, but the postman catches on and cuts them off. When Spike and Tyke resort to trickery to steal the rest of the treats, the postman reports them to Mr. Jones, who sets them to making amends.
