A dark-haired woman in a striking black-and-white dress stands coolly before a puppet-show playbill, its vintage-style silhouettes of a man and a small imp-like figure hinting at strings and manipulation. Looming behind her, the golden form of what appears to be a massive winged figure fills the background with an unsettling grandeur. Christopher Moeller's painted cover work gives this April 2004 Vertigo installment of Mike Carey's Lucifer a moody, theatrical atmosphere that perfectly suits the "Wire, Briar, Limber Lock" arc getting underway.
