Lucifer #43
Two monstrous figures burst through a shattered stained-glass archway on Christopher Moeller's cover for this 2003 Vertigo installment — a hulking, bald creature clutching a glowing ankh overhead while a wild-eyed, snarling demon lunges forward amid a cascade of broken colored glass. The visual tension between that sacred symbol and these thoroughly unsettling beings sets a compelling tone for "Brothers in Arms, Part Two of Three," written by Mike Carey with art by Peter Gross and Ryan Kelly. If you've been following this arc, this cover makes it very clear that the middle chapter isn't slowing down.
