This Vertigo title reaches a striking visual crescendo with issue #23, the concluding chapter of "Paradiso." Christopher Moeller's cover depicts a winged, luminous figure — arms outstretched, radiating brilliant beams of golden light in every direction — hovering above a purple-hued cityscape with an explosion of fire blazing behind him, the whole image carrying an unmistakable sense of divine (or perhaps infernal) transformation. Mike Carey, Peter Gross, and Ryan Kelly bring this three-part arc to its close, and if the cover is any indication, the finale carries the weight of something genuinely cosmic.
