Luc Orient #2

This handsome Polish omnibus collects more of the Belgian science-fiction adventure series by writer Greg and artist Eddy Paape, whose clean, dynamic linework is on full display across the cover. Paape's art shows Luc Orient in a teal spacesuit at the foreground, gazing up at a fleet of retro-futuristic, spider-legged spacecraft launching amid billowing clouds of exhaust, while a red-suited figure stands boldly atop one of the central vessels. Wydanie Zbiorcze Tom 2 is a fine 2018 showcase for one of Franco-Belgian comics' most visually inventive sci-fi series, and at 99 PLN it packages a generous slab of "Stalowy las" adventure in one elegant volume.
